MARKOV Solutions is the free-lance company of Mark Overmeer.

There are more areas in computer and work related activities which I touched during the years, but couldn't find a place in the other pages. Therefore a final bunch of mixed items.

My non computer/work related activities can be found on my personal pages.

I am (or was) involved in various organizations:

  • NLUUG, association for Open Source and Open Systems (originally the professional "Dutch Unix User Group") as secretary 2008-2012, website and all office tasks since 2008.
  • Facilitator or CACert hardware. In 2009-2013 as secretary of the Dutch foundation Oophaga, since 2013 as treasurer in the German Secure-U e.V
  • Alumni-group of the Computing Science department NINJA of the Radboud University in Nijmegen. Since 1999, most of the time as secretary.
  • Association "Breadfund Craneveer", social disability ensurance network for self-employed. Secretary since 2019.
  • Foundation "Stichting Perl Promotie Nederland" SPPN. Secretary since 2004
  • Sole organiser of eleven Dutch Perl Workshops (2004-2018)
  • Active member of the Amsterdam Perl Mongers (2000-2019)
  • Organisor of the Free Software Bazaar during SANE 2006
  • Member of the Dutch Informatics Society (Nederlands Genootschap van Informatici (NGI), in particular the groups "Oost" (Netherlands region East), ZIT (self-employed), and Management (2002-2008)
     
  • On the University: secretary of the study organization for Computing Science and Physics students Marie Curie (1987-1990).

  • During the 80s, I have designed and built a few computers based on the MC6809 processor, from the ground up: circuit design, print layouting, boot software, operating system.
  • Member of The Young Scientists (renamed to Technisch Creatief JeugdCentrum, TCJA) in Arnhem, before as volunteer and trainer (1978-).
